Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter (born March 26th, 1991) more popularly known as her professionally-known moniker Ari Lennox is an American singer and songwriter of Washington, D.C. She is the first female artist affiliated with J. Cole's label Dreamville Records. The first album she released with the label on October 21 2016 titled Pho where she was able to begin gaining attention. Shea Butter Baby, her debut album, was released on in May 7th, 2019. Ari Lennox began uploading her music online in the year 2012, after which she debuted her debut mixtape Five Finger Discount, and her debut EP Ariography in the year 2013. The year 2014 saw her continue to release her music on the web including her self released single Bound. In 2015, she performed on Omen's Elephant Eyes Album in the track Sweat It Out on the 21st of July. J. Cole asked her to be a part of his collaboration on Rihanna's references. In the following calendar, her songs was circulating all over Dreamville. On the 8th of December, it was revealed that she was officially signed by Dreamville Records. The album Revenge of the Dreamers II which she was featured on, she sang the track Backseat with Cozz. On October 21 2016 she debuted her first EP named Pho. Ari Lennox then appeared as the opening act on behalf of J. Cole on his song Change in 2017. She also appeared on the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour. In 2018, she was featured in two songs, with the EarthGang's Nothing but the Best song as well as Bas' Icarus. Ari Lennox's debut album Shea Butter Baby was released on July 16, 2018. First single, Whipped Cream, from the album was released on the 5th of September, 2018 and featured a an accompanying music video. In November, she dropped two additional singles called 40 Shades of Choke and Grampa. The 13th of November, she released two more singles called No One or Pedigree. Shea Butter Baby was released as her first single on the 26th of February, 2019, for her album Creed II. Shea Butter Baby made an appearance together with Cole for her Creed II sound track on the 16th of November. A music video was released on the 20th February of 2019 to accompany the track. Within one week, the video had more than 3,000,000 views. The singer was a supporting artist for 6LACK during the From East Atlanta With Love Tour in December, 2018.
